Vestibular Migraine

    Vestibular migraine, also known as migranous vertigo, is a type of migraine that affects the inner ear.Vertigo or balance problems affect over 40% of migraine sufferers.Some patients with vestibular migraine might not have a headache and only have dizziness and balance problems.
    Migraine vertigo can last for more than 5 minutes per episode and can extend up to 3 days.During the attack, you may be sensitive to noise, light, or have vision problems.There are 3 kinds of factors that can trigger a migraine.
  1. Physical and emotional triggers such as stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and a lack of sleep, hormones, eye strain, tension in neck and shoulder
  2. Dietary triggers such as irregular meals, dehydration, alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, cheese, citrus fruits, food additives (monosodium glutamate, aspartame, tyramine or nitrates)
  3. Environmental triggers such as bright lights, loud noises, Strong smells, Smoky environments or smoking
    Treatment of vestibular migraine, including prevention and medication . As mentioned earlier, the majority of migrainous vertigo has a trigger. if you can identify and avoid the trigger, you will be able to prevent your symptoms. If prevention does not work, you may require medication to alleviate or prevent your symptoms.
